Chicken and north India are made for each other. So it’s not really surprising that the promoters of Republic of Chicken are Punjab-based and the first restaurant of a potentially nationwide chain has opened in Delhi! Having said that, the exact location of their eatery (the chain also has cafe and deli formats on the anvil) is a bit puzzling — perched above the Mango store in one corner of the shopping sprawl that is South Extension Part 1. The bustling roads of South Extension market, dotted with branded stores, now have several restaurants in their midst. Sanchos, a Tex-Mex restaurant, recently opened in South Extension II and now the Republic of Chicken in South Extension Part I promises to be different from other fast-food joints. Located on the third floor of the building that houses the Mango showroom on the ground level, the restaurant, colourful in red, has a nice view of the busy streets, minus the noise.
