Cinnabon, Vasant Kunj – Yummylicious
You cannot miss this place as you enter DLF Place Mall in Vasant Kunj as the aroma of freshly baked cinnamon delights is definitely going to tickle your senses. Cinnabon, is at the ground floor with an open seating area. The very first outlet of Cinnabon in India, has a wide variety of cinnamon products! It should be a welcome surprise for all those blessed with a sweet tooth.
I tried my first Cinnabon today – it was so good!!! There’s just something about a fresh hot Cinnabon that comes right out of the oven that makes you want to scarf it down and not share with anybody. And the delicious cream cheese frosting that you spread on top of it – heavenly goodness! These babies are sweet so it’s best if you drank milk or even coffee while consuming these Cinnabons.
The best part is that you can see the rolls being made fresh and the manager rings a bell as soon as freshly baked rolls come out of the oven – an invitation to all the dessert deprived people on the floor! I tried out the chocolate and pecan nut cinnamon roll, cinnamon sticks (with a frosting dip!) and the mango chill in drinks. I loved the cinnamon sticks most, especially without the dip. The pecan one is also very yummy. What some of you might not know (or maybe you do) is that these rolls are baked on top of the pecan mix for about 15 minutes. Then it is flipped over onto a new pan. Then drizzled with that [oh-so-good] caramel frosting.
A few interesting facts about Cinnabon:
- All the products are eggless, hence customized for Indians
- A special cinnamon called the Makara Cinnamon is used as the key ingredient in all the products (except the chocobun) Makara cinnamon is known to preserve the cinnamon aroma for a long time
- Cinnabon claims you can safely keep the buns frozen for as long as 30 days without losing their freshness
All in all, it’s a great place to for indulgence if you can afford it (health-wise that is!); for us, it’s one of the cheapest slices of heaven!
