The food is neither fussy nor complicated, but hugely tasty, with very generous portions. Sikandari Raan – an aromatic whole leg of baby lamb gently infused with a selection of exotic spices and slow grilled to perfection, Mattarwali Tikki – pan griddled tikkis of green peas stuffed with cheese and mint, and Tandoori Salad – chunks of cottage cheese, assorted vegetables and fresh pineapple in a zesty marinade – are among the other inventive appetizers.
Main courses feature the must-try Nalli Gosht – slow cooked Lamb shanks in yoghurt gravy finished with roasted caraway seeds, Kali Mirch ka Jheenga – succulent prawns in black pepper gravy, Khada Palak Paneer – chunks of fresh cottage cheese simmered in coarsely chopped spinach bursting with the flavours of roasted garlic and cumin and the Malai Kofta – stuffed cottage cheese dumplings in a luxurious and creamy tomato gravy.
The decadent desserts on offer include a creamy Kulfi enriched with pistachio and served with glossy rose flavoured falooda, and the signature Tiramisu – layers of sponge cake and Mascarpone cheese kissed with coffee. A selection of teas and coffees are available to round off that perfect meal!
The Set menu offers excellent value and an opportunity to sample a wide variety of dishes. Starting at Rs.350 per person, it comprises of a very generous meal – an appetizer, 2 main course dishes, dal, breads and dessert. The kebab platters consist of a fine selection of kebabs, and priced at Rs.350 (vegetarian) and Rs.425 (non vegetarian) are abundant and perfect for sharing.
The bar at Orange Hara exudes a casual yet hip vibe and takes cocktails to another level with its talented bar team, contemporary concoctions and comprehensive list of wines and spirits. Signature creations include The Anaartini – an Indian Martini built with pomegranate juice, dry gin and lemon, and The Indian Surprise – chilled vodka shaken with betel nut and lemon, that brings out a truly ‘desi’ flavour. Happy Hours offer great value with 2 drinks for the price of 1, between 4pm and 8pm and again from 11pm till closing – perfect for that nightcap!
The name Orange Hara (pronounced Haara), draws inspiration from the seven eminent chakras stacked in a column of energy in the body. In the second chakra, called the Svadhisthana chakra, reside the rasas of creativity, emotions, friendship and flavours…the power to truly enjoy all the world has to offer. Orange – the colour of the Sun increases appetite and awakens the taste buds… it is the colour of life in all its glory. So it is only natural that when the hues of orange and the Sacral Hara become one, the gates of pleasure are opened for you at Orange Hara.
The décor breaks away from the clichéd interiors associated with Indian cuisine restaurants. The interiors are warm and inviting, the furniture – with a dark wood finish and copper toned upholstery – aesthetic and comfortable and the specially designed inlaid tiles add colour to the modern and contemporary ambience. A separate lounge area, characterized by bright orange walls with geometric detailing provides a perfect setting for guests to enjoy a drink before their meal.
For cosmopolitan Delhites Orange Hara seamlessly merges authentic Indian food with exceptional service in a vibrant and stylish ambience, at affordable prices. The energetic, youthful and well groomed staff take customer orders on handhelds and provide service that is warm, personalized and attentive.
